Project Overview
This project was turnkey including engineering, controls, remote communications, assembly, testing, delivery, and start-up. Of primary importance was the design and layout of the treatment system such that it would fit inside a standard shipping container.
Design
A forty (40) foot long closed top standard shipping was configured to house the treatment system, a control room, and a small lab. The system was designed so large tanks were to be connected to the treatment system on-site. The treatment system includes and automated control system, employing an Allen-Bradley Micrologix 1400 PLC. A Proface Industrial panelmount PC with Rockwell's Factory Talk View Studio Edition SCADA software was utilized to provide supervisory control and datalogging capability. Remote access and support is available via a secured high-speed Internet connection.
The Solution
This project showcases Allen-Bradley Micrologix 1400 PLCs and Internet-based cellular wireless monitoring. Allen-Bradley PLC technology was selected for this project for several reasons: Control system reliability, functional capability, and remote accessibility.
After the project was bid successfully, GMG Corporation was contracted to provide the following components and services:
Modified Shipping Container
